Resilient Sasanid soldier unveiled in Iran after glorious homecoming

After triumphant return to Iran, the long-lost Sassanid bas-relief takes center stage at the Iran National Museum.

Also known as the Sassanid Soldier, the bas-relief was illegally taken out of Iran 35 years ago and later discovered in England around seven years ago.

Through the efforts and follow-ups of Iran's Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts, as well as Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was returned to Iran.

It is highly likely that this artwork was illicitly removed during the imposed war.

The unveiling ceremony for the bas-relief at the Iran National Museum was held on Monday. This marks an important milestone in preserving and showcasing Iran's rich cultural heritage.

Visitors and enthusiasts will have the opportunity to marvel at the intricate details and historical significance of this ancient bas-relief until July 22.
